Salsa "Rueda de Casino"
Rueda1
Rueda de Casino

Casino Dance, is a couple's dance created in Cuba in the 50's in the Dance Ballroom of "Casino Deportivo de Playa", one of the most popular social clubs in the district of Mariano and Miramar in Havana, Cuba.  This popular Cuban dance was danced in these "Casinos" and therefore took the name "Baile de Casino".  After a few years, it spread all over the island, and soon renamed "Rueda de Casino".

In this 12 week beginner's course, you will learn the basic steps of social salsa, Cuban style.  All moves are learned in a circle following the "Rueda de Casino" pattern, in which a caller will call out the turn names and all couples in the circle will execute them simultaneously following the beat of the music.  Although all moves are learned in a circle where couples will exchange partners during the dance, these moves can also be applied to one-on-one salsa dancing.
This style of salsa is said to be one of the most fun and playful as the partners are consistently rotating so that the entire dance floor is dancing together.
