Salsa is one of the hottest dances around, sweeping the globe in recent years. It is a dance you're likely to find anywhere from Hong Kong to Los Angeles to India and many places in between.
In this course, geared for BRAND NEW dancers, you will learn Salsa basics (Salsa-on-1 style). You will learn the fundamental footwork, turns and movement needed to prepare you for more complex salsa patterns and styling. We will cover the basic elements of Salsa including right turns, reverse turns, male turn combinations, cross body lead with turns, etc.
Beginning in the Fall quarter, Salsa 101 will consist of three 4-week sessions (Salsa 101, 102, 103) running consecutively.
Note: Salsa 102 and 103 require completion of 101 or instructor approval to join a class once it is in session.
